It looks like some iSCSI implementation on DSM problem. I've ceated NFS share on Synology and I can add NFS storgare to ESXi host.

If I understand you correctly you want to create a clone of a virtual disk with snapshots and use this disk on another VM!? Yes that's possible. What you need to do is to make sure the virtual disk/snapshot is not in use. You can either achieve this by powering off the source VM or by creating an additional snapshot.
To create a clone manually, make note of the virtual disk name of the snapshot disk (e.g. source- vmname-000003.vmdk), and run the following command from the command line:
vmkfstools -i /vmfs/volumes/source-datastore/vm-folder/source-vmname-000003.vmdk /vmfs/volumes/target-datastore/target-folder/target-vmname.vmdk

You can have RDM disks presented directly to VMs, or you can create VMFS volumes on your ESXi host. The VMFS volumes can contain multiple VMs, each with multiple hard disks assigned to them.

Hi guys ,
I have an issue with host data collection .
more particuliarly with one Host but that prevent me to do host collection.
the script broke around line 671 with a soap error .
if i put a remark on the entire script line the script end correctly but i din't have anything on the host tab.
if i narrow the script by running it on that host with the argument --type host the error is reproductable.
if i choose another host no issues except that the line 391
$summary_start .= "<tr><td>".$sc->about->fullName."</td><td>$system_name</td><td>".$sc->about->instanceUuid."</td></tr>\n";
said that I used a wrong value in concatenation .

This is also an issue with vmware player and SmartOS, just trying the standard install corrups the vm badly and almost always panics.
When relocating the vms to standard disks the problems go away.

EMC RecoverPoint Storage Replication Adapter Version 2.1
Hi everyone,
I'm having issues with this SRA version 2.1! The installation went just fine on both sites. Pairing and mapping is functional between two VCenters.
I have VCenter 5.1, SRM 5.1 running together on a W2K8 R2 on both sites.
After the SRA installation, i tried to "Add Array Manager" on VSphere Client SRM GUI, and i got the error: "Unable to find any array script (SRA) files. You must install SRAs before adding an array manager"
If i try to "Rescan SRAs" i have this error message: "Failed to load SRA from 'E:/Program Files/VMware/VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager/storage/sra/array-type-recoverpoint'. SRA command 'queryInfo' didn't return a response"
Tried to restart/reinstall several times, but it didn't work!
I have exactly the same symptoms on both SRM servers!
Did anyone face this problem?

Hi, when you say you "Manually Rebalanced" do you mean you used Storage vMotion rather than the Rebalance feature within View? If this is the case, try and vMotion the VM's back to the datastore that came from and see if you can power them on again.
Never manage your View desktops within vSphere, always manage them within View.
How many Connection Servers do you have in your View Pod? And are you using tunneling or direct connections?
If you have more than one connection server and you are using direct connections, restarting a connection server will not impact the end users. The active View sessions are bypassing the Connection Server and any users that happening to be connecting at the same time as one of the connection servers being down will still be able to access their desktops via one of the other Connection Servers.

sto provando installare VmWare Server in Ubuntu Server 12.10.
Durante l'installazione mi viene visualizzato il seguente messaggio:
What is the location of the directory of c Header files that match you running kernel? [usr/src/linux/include]
Premendo invio viene visualizzato:
The path [usr/src/linux/include] is not an existing directory
Ho cambiato la path inserendo:
/usr/src/linux-headers-3.5.0.17-generic/includr/linux
E mi viene visualizzato:
The path /usr/src/linux-headers-3.5.0.17-generic/includr/linux is an existing directory, but it does not contain a "linux" subdirectory as expected
Ho letto che bisognerebbe installare la patch di vmware any to any ma che comnque non risolve il problema.
Esiste una soluzione a questo quesito?

Yes i installed Active Perl on the recovery site to test it but it didn't work 
.NET 3.5 is already installed on both servers also.
